What's New for 2022?
While exact specifications have not yet been released for the 2022 Ford Escape, drivers can assume that that Escape will just keep getting better with age. For the previous model year, Ford added a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain option to the Escape, and the Co-Pilot 360 Plus package of safety technology added adaptive cruise control and traffic-sign recognition.Design

Performance
The 2022 Ford Escape offers several different powertrain options to meet drivers' needs. The base engine is a unique turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine that delivers 181 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic transmission send output to the front wheels (FWD) in standard form, but all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional. This engine powers the S, SE, and SEL models.The SEL model is the first one that is able to upgrade to the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. AWD is standard with this upgraded engine.
Ford also offers a hybrid and PHEV version of the Escape, which are powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that is paired with an electric motor for a combined output of over 200 horsepower. The PHEV model provides approximately 60km of pure electric-only range.
