Future Fords Worth Waiting For: 2024-2025

Future Fords Worth Waiting For: 2024-2025

2024-2025 Ford Models Worth Waiting For | Bennett Dunlop Ford

Ford has been a prominent player in the automotive industry for over a century, producing some of the most iconic models. The American carmaker has always been at the forefront of innovation, and the company's latest move into electric vehicles is no exception. While Ford has recently announced some future EV models, they also have plans for some gasoline-powered models. Here's a look at some of the exciting future Fords 2024-2025 models.

2024 Ford Ranger

The Ford Ranger returns for the 2024 model year with a fresh new look, improved technology and infotainment, and a trio of potent engines. The new model features a longer wheelbase and comes only in a SuperCrew cab with four full doors, providing ample space for passengers and cargo.

Under the hood, the Ranger offers three engine choices. The base 2.3-litre turbo-3 engine produces 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. A twin-turbocharged 2.7-litre V6, with 315 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, is also available. For those seeking even more power, the Ranger Raptor's 3.0-litre turbo-6 engine delivers 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.

Ford Explorer EV

Ford plans to expand its electric vehicle lineup, and the Explorer EV is one of the models that will debut soon. The Explorer EV is set to be launched in Europe only and will be a smaller crossover based on Volkswagen's MEB architecture. The EV is slated to feature an extended range of 10-80% charging in just 25 minutes.

The Explorer EV's interior will come with a vertically-angled 14.6-inch touchscreen, an array of digital instrument clusters, and a choice of either RWD or AWD. Ford also confirmed it would produce this EV in Germany, with a price starting from $48,000*.

2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse

The Dark Horse's bodywork is entirely new except for the roof and front pillars, giving the Mustang a refreshing new appearance. In contrast to the Mustang GT, the 2024 Dark Horse features a Tremec TR-3160 manual six-speed transmission and Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS track tires and Brembo brakes.

This track-ready upgrade on the Mustang GT retains the Mustang's traditional V8 engine; the Dark Horse packs a power punch with its 5.0-litre Ti-VCT V8 engine, producing 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque.

2025 Ford Mustang GTD

Despite expectations for a mid-engine layout, Ford is keeping the Mustang GTD's powerhouse of an engine in its usual place, under the hood. What makes the GTD stand out is its multi link suspension setup, dominating the traditional stock strut system.

The GTD packs a modified Supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine that churns out an estimated 800 horsepower, which is insane. This Mustang GT's unique suspension setup features a "coil-over-shock" system, offering an unmatched driving performance, especially on the track. The GTD has a hydraulic front flap and automatic rear flaps that can switch between max downforce and minimum drag in milliseconds.

2026 Ford "Bullet Train" Three-Row Crossover

Ford is making a big play in the electric car market with a particularly unique entry: the three-row electric crossover. The crossover will feature an impressive 560-km range, which can be recharged at a stunning 240 km for only ten minutes of DC fast charging.

The Ford "Bullet Train'' is expected to seat up to seven passengers, taking full advantage of the crossover's smart seating arrangement. Ford CEO Jim Farley announced that this EV will be manufactured at Ford's Oakville, ON facility, targeting the family-oriented market.
