2020 vs 2019 Ford F150 - What's the Difference?

2020 vs 2019 Ford F150 - What's the Difference?

The Ford F-150 is not only Canada's top-selling pickup truck, but it is also the country's top-selling vehicle and has been for the past 12 years.

Across the country, Ford and its F-series trucks dominate the category with 36 percent of all pickup truck sales. So, it isn't an exaggeration to say that the release of each new model year is highly anticipated across Canada.

What's new with the 2020 F-150?

While 2020 was not a redesign year for the Ford F-150, the latest version does include a few upgrades vs the 2019 Ford F-150. The 2020 maintains the 2019-introduced comfortable exterior, continues to offer plenty of user-friendly technology, and keeps its best-in-class maximum towing rating of 5987 kg. Drivers shopping for Canada's best-selling vehicle can choose between seven different models, beginning at the XL with a starting price of $26,339 and ending at the Raptor with a starting price of $76,999. The other five models are the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.

The 2020 Ford F-150 belongs to a generation that started with the 2015 model year, and there have been significant changes since then. For 2020, the truck provides a standard 10-speed automatic transmission with all engines, and the lower trim levels are now available with more engine options than in previous years. For example, the Power Stroke turbo-diesel V6 is now available on the more affordable XLT trims. Buyers do not have to go to a significantly more expensive trim level just to get that engine. These are the only significant engine changes between 2019 and 2020.

Additionally, advanced safety and driving assistance features are now grouped into different packages for 2020. The Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited models now come standard with Co-Pilot360--Ford's suite of advanced driver-assistance technologies. Such technologies include a blind spot information system, lane-keeping system, rearview camera, and more. For the 2019 model, these were only available at an additional cost.

The Ford F-150 stays true to its roots with the 2020 model and provides more standard features than previous model years, helping to maximize buyers' budgets. Book a test drive for a F 150 in Regina today.
